![]() ![]() This game has been worse ever since 3.15 came out and trashed many builds. I have to say last league was good, but wasn't the best ever for me and not for most players (Arch Nemesis followed the same old downward trend of poor retention over the last year). You can't, where as before most mobs would follow the path and weren't that big of a threat, right now 3-4 rares on top of each other = enjoy dodging shit for hours on end, and it isn't rare for blights to get 8+ rares stacked on top of each other at choke points. Go give a blight map a try and see if you can "catch up" when you start struggling on a map. Now: Most of the time rares are a problem, but not through actual difficulty, but through sleazy mechanics that rely on visuals that are often hidden deep within a billion mobs. Molten is the worse by far, by explody shield that you must dodge, then followed my meatballs that you have to dodge and get back just in time for the explody shield to be charging!īefore: Sometimes rare could be a problem, mostly due to annoying mechanics that you had to be aware of. ![]() If the mobs are dropping lightning totems on you, it's especially annoying if the rare is ranged, 'cause he won't move if you dodge the totems and you have to dick around and wait for the totems to disappear or you have to run away so the mob follows. Like if you're fightnign a lightning mirage monster, which spawns shit on you every 0.5s, you basically have to beeline away from the rare, loop around so the mirages follow you, get a few hits in, loop back, rinse and repeat. Imagine playing melee where either the mods add punishing on hit effects (sentinel, all the weavers, etc.), the mods spawn shit on you that you HAVE to get away from to live, but the spawned shit tends to radiate from the direction of the target, meaning you always have to do big loops. Lightning mirage and those lightning totems are big fuck you.īasically, it seems that the only way GGG has found to make challenging shit is by having shit run after you. Toxic basically replaced the old volatile by being on death, except it can spawn on magic mobs as well! Now, we still have volatile flameblood except it's it's called molten or something and it spews several volatile, while in battle, which deals as much damage as old volatile. My take right now, after having mapped to yellow maps, is that rares are just fucking annoying, and it is a nightmare to be playing melee right now, it's as if GGG decided that melee shouldn't be a thing at all this league. Archnemesis makes every mob a nemesis mod, which wasn't the case before. The annoying mods previously were corrupting blood, volatile flameblood, soul eater and maybe lightning mirage. My main problem is the amount of annoying rare mods. There seems like so many good changes this league that fear wont be experienced by willing and able players because the journey to that content is filled with unreasonable and unrewarding speed blocks in the for of Arch Nem. This is not even getting into the issue that all this extra difficulty comes with no increased reward(seemingly worse rewards in fact, as a lot of the trash drops that seemed culled were very useful while leveling as they provided more chances to get the sockets/links you needed to get a build going). Even content that seemed ideal for early league like essences scale out of control. The escape portion of the heist is absolute suicide. Tried an seemingly easy heist contract today and nope-not touching that again. I respect that this is not everyones opinion, but for what seems like a clearly large group of players it is. Right now for many players, they are making the game, or many aspects of the game, unplayable or simply so unenjoyable that they are not wanting to engage with the content. Not saying forever, but clearly there needs to be a lot more thought put into Arch Nemesis mods going core.
